My Intarsia is made with western red cedar, pine, aspen,and Walnut. A intarsia design will vary in the number of pieces from as few as twelve upward to well over 2oo. Each piece is hand cut using a scroll sawn, hand sanded and shaped to match the adjoining piece and glued to a luan backing. Pieces are raised or lowered to create depth or dimension needed to accentuate the specifice intarsia design creating a 3-D effect. Each intarsia piece is unique in that no two ever ever be indentical due to the wood used. Each intarsia piece takes 4- 8 week to complete. We have been creating intarsia for about 15 years.
